The Chicago Cubs tickets go on sale in February. The coldest, most miserable month in Chicago.
We had an idea to eschew the usual announcement and jolt a few Chicagoans out of their frozen complacency. We dressed up some Second City players to resemble Chicago police officers and sent them onto the streets for two days to hand out citations (two free tix!) to anyone one displaying “excessive signs of Cubs fandom.”
And made this happen:
Local media picked up the story. Ticket sales picked up considerably.
